IXGEN’s mission is to facilitate access to resources, provide information, technical assistance, training and other business development support services, to micro and small entrepreneurs to enable them to promote, strengthen and advance their businesses nationally and internationally. IXGEN is committed to ‘promoting a global perspective for micro entrepreneurs in the USA and in Africa.
IXGEN’s vision is to see grassroots women and youth throughout the USA and Africa, create and operate sustainable micro enterprises beyond borders, with help from local community groups, governmental and non-governmental agencies, philanthropic foundations, and other private sectors. Also, IXGEN will promote the need for entrepreneurial education as an integral part of the middle and high school curricula throughout the USA and Africa.
*Help access opportunities for promising small business owners in under-served communities across the country to sustain and grow their businesses, providing them with training and resources necessary for them to succeed and create jobs.
*Encourage and facilitate dialogue, trading opportunities, linkages and partnerships among and between small businesses, support groups, national and international donors, private businesses and financial institutions in the USA and in Africa.
*Advocate for American women and minority micro and small enterprise owners to get increased recognition and participation in local government contracting projects.
*Encourage and strive to increase the number of American women-owned enterprises that have a global presence, through travel, awareness, and training.
*Strongly support entrepreneurship education in middle and high schools to help reduce dropout rates, increase career options, and prepare students for meeting the economic needs of their families and communities.

IXGEN celebrated this year's week-long, cross-country series of events by holding a Lunch & Learn event for female Small Business Owners in the metro Atlanta area, to discuss useful resources to help the women brand, market, and grow their businesses. The workshop on " Bold, Accessible, Smart Federal Certification - The SBA Way" was facilitated by Charlotte Johnson, Economic Development Specialist, SBA Georgia District Office.
Special Guest Speaker was Cheryl Cooper, Managing Partner, CLC Consulting Group, LLC.
Over a light lunch the women learned how to become eligible for federal contracting, shared their experiences, learned from each other, and developed new business relationships.

IXGEN and Go Global Conferences (GGC) co-hosted the event, which was held at the Decatur Recreation Center, Sycamore Street, Decatur, Georgia, on February 23, 2017.
Small Business Owners (SBO) from across Metro Atlanta attended the event.
The theme of the Workshop was: "How to keep your Small Business Growing’. The goal was to continue to raise awareness, inform, train and inspire, micro and small business owners, to prepare for growth. The Business Growth series of workshops will engage active small business owners and startups in interactive training sessions throughout the year.
Representatives from the SBA Georgia District Office facilitated two of the sessions. Mrs. Patrice Dozier, SBA Economic Development Specialist, trained participants on the 'Women Owned Small Business Contracting Program'. Mr. Jorge Valentin-Stone, SBA Economic Development Specialist, facilitated training on 'Doing Business with the Federal Government', for all SBOs including veterans.
Mrs. Emmenette Mason spoke on 'Strategies to Grow Your Small Business', and Abiola Fashina, Esq. spoke on 'Using Social Media to Grow Your Business'.

DECA INTERNATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

PROCESS Students prepare for competition by writing business plans, conducting public relations campaigns and collaborating with local businesses to conduct market research studies. They present and compete at local and state conferences. From there, the best of the best come to DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) to compete in over 60 career areas for the chance to be named international champions.
IMPACT Roughly 20,000 students, teachers and business professionals will come to Atlanta in April for ICDC 2018. It’s projected that this conference alone will bring $15 million in revenue to the metro area. We’re investing in Atlanta to make this conference a success, and we ask you to invest in DECA to help make this happen.
